Thanks to everyone that braved the cold and wet, we had 20 players turn up and as many parents battling the elements from the touchlines.
SLH only brought 6 players, so we lent some to them for the two games we played. Despite the conditions, everyone seemed to enjoy it. Apologies for this being a short report, but my pad and pen got drenched, so after a couple of minutes I couldn’t take any notes! Anyway, we drew the first game 1-1 and won the second game 3-2.
Although it was cold, it seems that most of the kids liked to get muddy and spirits were high. It was good to have a friendly game against SLH, although I’m sure some of our ‘borrowed players’ didn’t play their best when they were playing for them. In fact I said to one of our ‘loan’ players, who shall remain nameless, so you scored a try for SLH then? Yes, but I didn’t want to was his reply!
Everyone is looking forward to playing at the Stoop next week, so see you then. Hope the weather is a tad better than this Sunday.
